Cutie Pie New Series Review and Details

Cutie Pie seems to be either loved or hated, and there doesn't seem to be a middle ground. So before I start writing my review, I want to encourage everyone to give it a try and form their own opinion instead of getting lost in threads, comments, etc.

The thing is, you might hate this show or watch it laughing and smiling like a fool.

I was the fool, though. And I'll be the fool because I'm sure I'll watch it again. If you listen to the wrong things, you might miss out on something fun and fluffy.

STORY:

The show is based on a simple idea: there is a planned marriage between two guys. One is older and a workaholic who seems pretty cold. The other is younger and tries to hide and act as the perfect heir because he comes from old money. The main idea of the series is that misunderstandings can ruin relationships and that sometimes it takes a lot of courage to be yourself. I won't give anything away and keep this review vague, but I will say that Lian and Kuea lie because they think it's the best thing to do.

If you can't stand misunderstandings and always say, "Just talk to each other and say what's on your mind!" then this show is not for you. But if you can enjoy a story about insecurity, being sweet and in love, and sometimes being stupid, then PLEASE keep reading.

Also, I like it, but I have to say there are a lot of plot holes. But I never felt overpowered by them; I was annoyed. But, on the other hand, I was never bored either.

Even the couples on the side are attractive.

ACTING/CAST:

I liked all of them. Almost everyone.

Zee is so fantastic, and New surprised me in so many ways.

In this series, there are no dead-fish kisses, awkward stares, or actors who seem bothered or even disturbed by what they have to do to show that their characters love each other. When I watched Cutie Pie, I was utterly caught up in the story and sure that the characters loved each other. And I'm talking about ALL the couples.

Love, sad, and funny scenes were all made so well.

MUSIC:

I liked all of the songs, and it's clear that they were all made with Cutie Pie and its story in mind. New has a beautiful voice, and the other artists also surprised me in a good way.

OVERALL:

I think this is a pretty good series. So to speak, a guilty pleasure. Something that could have been done better (lookin' at you, screenwriters!) But that is much better than many other shows that have been on or are on right now. Cutie Pie was closely looked at because many people were looking forward to it. Unfortunately, it got a lot of harsh criticism while other shows with worse plots, acting, and production values were left alone.

I'm going to repeat it: give it a chance. Be aware that it's not perfect, but give it a try if you want good acting, great fanservice and love scenes, a cute plot with silly drama, etc.
